Reports to: Head of IT

The Information Technology (IT) Business Partner will serve as the strategic IT partner to our Commercial & Medical Affairs functions, translating business needs into effective technology solutions that both align with business objectives and deliver the necessary capabilities required by the business. This role will drive digital innovation, optimize IT systems, and support key initiatives to help enhance patient access, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include functional business alignment, solution implementation and support, technology roadmap development, and maintaining current knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic IT Alignment: Partner with Commercial and Medical Affairs teams to understand their business needs, identify technical solutions to address those needs, and build a corresponding technology roadmap to deliver those solutions while aligning to overall IT strategic and architectural goals.
  • Planning and Prioritization: Lead cadenced business reviews with business and IT leadership to continually evolve technology roadmap and revisit prioritization based on business need, resource availability, and other variable factors.
  • Technology Enablement: Lead implementation and/or optimization of technologies based on roadmap and commitments, including RFP and discovery efforts where needed.
  • Operational Support: Oversee ongoing maintenance and operational support of core platforms leveraging internal and managed services resources.
  • Portfolio & Project Management: Manage overall Commercial and Medical Affairs IT portfolio and track related projects accordingly, including reporting out to relevant stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Protocols: Build required SDLC/SOP documentation to effectively deploy and maintain portfolio technologies (e.g., functional/system requirements, design documentation, testing/UAT plans, system/maintenance policies and procedures).
  • Budget Management: Define and manage approved Commercial and Medical IT budget (including implementation and ongoing maintenance needs).
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure IT systems and processes adhere to regulatory requirements, including FDA, HIPAA, and InfoSec guidelines and best practices.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration: Manage relationships with external technology providers/partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to leverage new or existing technologies to streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or relevant discipline.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated IT experience supporting Commercial and/or Medical Affairs business functions.
  • Strong Commercial and Medical Affairs business acumen and understanding of related business processes.
  • Strong Portfolio and Project Management skills required, agile/iterative practices a plus.
  • Experience with CRM and/or SFDC/Veeva technologies required.
  • Experience with Marketing and Digital Engagement technologies a plus.
  • Experience with Analytics/Reporting/Insights tools a plus.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Business Intelligence tools a plus.
  • Knowledge of FDA, HIPAA, and GxP compliance in IT systems required.
  • Understanding of SDLC guidelines and best practices.
  • Current experience with industry practices, technology trends, budgets, customer services, client/stakeholder relationships, contract development, data management and analytics, and vendor management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with the following technologies or equivalent preferred: SFDC, Veeva/Vault CRM, OneKey or OpenData, MS365, MS CoPilot/CoPilot Studio, Power BI, Veeva PromoMats/MedComms, ActiveCampaign, Google Analytics/Matomo, Azure/AWS Platform Services.
